Ingredients
For the Meatloaf Patties
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large egg
½ cup breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
For the Sticky BBQ Glaze
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
Prepare the meat mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce.
Mix gently:
Mix everything until just combined. Do not overmix, or the meat may become tough.
Shape the patties:
Divide the mixture into 6–8 thick oval portions. Place them in a lightly greased baking dish.
Make the glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, BBQ sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Add the glaze:
Brush a generous layer of the BBQ glaze over each meatloaf patty, making sure the tops are completely coated.
Bake:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for about 25–30 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked.
Glaze again:
Remove the dish from the oven and brush the patties with another generous layer of BBQ sauce. Return them to the oven for 5–10 minutes until the glaze becomes thick, glossy, and caramelized.
Rest and serve:
Let the meatloaf patties rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Spoon some of the delicious sauce from the baking dish over the top.
Serving
Serve hot with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, green beans, or a fresh salad.
Tip: For an extra glossy and caramelized finish, broil the patties for 1–2 minutes at the end, watching them carefully so the glaze does not burn.
